Can Old Sempra Tower Leave Its Past Behind?

September 20, 2016 by travis

“Property owner Sandor Shapery envisions a significant mixed-use residential makeover of the downtown San Diego high-rise building that formerly housed the longtime headquarters of Sempra Energy.”

“As it stands, Shapery noted that much of the new local office development is migrating to the eastern part of downtown, as part of larger proposed mixed-use projects by various developers. Sempra Energy itself relocated to a new East Village high-rise last year.”

‘“In other words, the EO makes locating in the core of the regional employment center more financially attractive than it would otherwise be if the EO were removed and allowed primarily residential development.”’
